You might not have heard of Bottletop's campaign, #TOGETHERBAND, which they launched on World Earth Day. This week we were lucky enough to attend an event at Bottletop's Regent Street store in collaboration with FAIR and The Oblique Life, where we learnt so much about their brand, their positive message and what they're doing to get the world several steps closer to meeting the UN's sustainability goals.
Their target is ambitious, and deservedly so. Bottletop wants to engage one billion people with the UN Global Goals. How? Well, through 17 coloured sustainably and ethically produced friendship bracelets, each one representing one of the UN's Global Goals. These aren't any ordinary friendship bracelets though: they are made from upcycled ocean plastic from Costa Rica and recycled steel from seized firearms in El Salvador. As if that isn't enough, the materials are repurposed into the bracelets by fair wage female artisans in Nepal, giving them an opportunity to increase their skills and improve their livelihoods
1kg of ocean plastic is removed from the ocean for every bracelet purchased. Even better, when you buy one... you actually get two (one to share with a friend to share the positive and impactful messages of this brand). 100% of profits from the bands are used for life-changing projects to progress the goals and build a more positive future.
