Are you throwing a dinner party in the next few weeks to celebrate Christmas and the New Year? Lucky for you, we have just the touches to set your home apart.
1. For your nibbles
Most nibbles need dips and finding the right bowl or dish can sometimes be tricky, especially when you have a variety of dips. So, drumroll…. The gorgeous tatu tray! The cute spoons have a blue, gunmental or yellow trim.
2. A table centre-piece
A striking centre-piece bowl can make a table. You can fill it with food – or maybe some gorgeous baubles or acorns for a festive feel! It’s made in Kenya by women who thanks to Badala, have escaped exploitation and now work for a fair wage in order to support themselves and their families.
3. Napkins for your table-settings
Having proper napkins for a dinner party always adds a formal touch, but for us it’s about more than that. These gorgeous cloth napkins have a positive environmental impact too, being reusable for other dinners you host throughout the year. They’re made in Honduras to help women get back on their feet as they escape human trafficking and gang violence.
4. Dinner by candle-light
We are self-confessed addicts to using candles in our homes throughout the year – but if there was ever a time when we love it even more, it’s Christmas. As if festive mood-lighting and a beautiful wintery scent weren’t enough – these candles are hand-poured soy, which means they aren’t made of crude oil by-products and are 100% biodegradable.
5. Post-dinner movie time
So once dessert and coffee has been cleared, there’s that classic moment of Elf, Love Actually or Home Alone? This stunning burst of colour will give your living room a face-lift and a sense of warmth. Whether it’s draped over an armchair, or keeping you warm on the sofa, it’s one of our favourite home accessories this year.
